OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Saturday marks two years since a statue honoring the dog behind Molly’s Law was unveiled in Marion County.
Molly’s statue was unveiled two years ago on Saturday.
Molly was abused by a man previously arrested on animal abuse charges.
She was rescued and was the inspiration for an animal abuse database in Marion County.
Now, shelter owners can look at the database and say no to people arrested for animal abuse.
Molly’s Law recently went statewide.
It was the inspiration for Dexter’s Law, which will set up a similar database for the entire state of Florida.
