A federal judge has blocked the enforcement of a presidential proclamation that sought to bar international students on F and J visas from entering the U.S. if enrolled at Harvard University.
The ruling, issued Thursday, grants Harvard’s emergency motion and stops the proclamation while the case proceeds. The court also extended a previous order that prevents the federal government from revoking Harvard’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program certification, Harvard University President Alan M. Garber said in a statement Friday.
This marks the second time in recent weeks that a judge has intervened to stop the Trump administration’s efforts to restrict Harvard’s international programs. The university had previously secured a temporary restraining order against the revocat
