FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (KFVS) - The U.S. Army says a soldier serving in the 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky died during a training accident near Camp Croft, Hungary.
Sgt. Aaron Cox, 24 of Mabank, Texas died after a vehicle crash while preparing for an upcoming exercise in Hungary.
“The loss of Sgt. Cox is a tragedy for all of us on the Strike team,” said, Col. Duke Reim, commander, 2MBCT, 101st Airborne Div. “He was a strong Soldier and leader, who quickly rose through the ranks while serving. We are in direct contact with his family, for care and support that they need during this difficult time.”
Cox joined the Army in 2021 and arrived at Fort Campbell in 2022. This was his second deployment.
The accident is under investigation.
