SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The “ Step Forward to Prevent Suicide ” event brought hundreds together in downtown Sioux Falls for the 14th year, honoring those who lost their lives to suicide.
The event also serves as a way to raise awareness of suicide prevention resources.
The walk isn’t just a walk for those who attended, it can be a lifeline for people who are suicide survivors themselves as well as a way for families to share their experiences.
“To come out and one, help people who are struggling, and two, to help those who are survivors and families that are living with this loss, anything we can do to let anybody in those situations know they are not alone,” said event speaker Stef Kummer.
