Thousands of runners, families, and supporters flooded the streets of downtown Syracuse Saturday morning, not just for a race but for a reason that touches hearts across Central New York.
The 29th annual Paige’s Butterfly Run brought powerful moments, emotional memories, and strong community support in honor of Paige Arnold, a young girl who passed away from leukemia in 1994. Her legacy lives on through the event, which raises funds for children battling cancer.
Among the participants was Judy Coates, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. She was all smiles as she spotted her own photo on the wall of honor near the start line.
“It really makes me feel happy and proud that I have such a big community and such good friends and family,” Coates said.
