WILKES-BARRE — Friday, June 6, 2025, marked the 81st anniversary of D Day.
Did you forget?
That’s the point — we must never forget.
The Times Leader ran a page-one story on Friday that carried this headline:
“These stories will go on.”
They will because they must go on — we must never forget what our veterans did in battle in all wars.
The Associated Press story was both eye-opening and compelling, as it told of a ceremony in Normandy, France, that was attended by U.S. veterans who fought on D Day and who now, for the most part, are near or past 100 years of age.
