COBB COUNTY, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Dozens of people gathered together on Saturday morning to celebrate a multimillion-dollar renovation of Paces Mill Park, part of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the completion of phase one of the “New Day Palisades” project. The $15.8 million project is revitalizing 22 acres of greenspace and riverfront trails.
Visitors can now enjoy new walking paths, shade structures, restored landscaping and improved river access.
All of these upgrades were built on what was once a sloped parking lot.
Kim Menefee, executive director of the Cumberland Community Improvement District (CID), said the goal was to enhance both access and safety at the site. The CID is leading the project in partnership with the no
