No rain was going to stop the Delco Pride parade Saturday as a giant rainbow flag weaved its way down State Street and another was flown at the county courthouse with hundreds in attendance.

The parade and flag raising were two parts of a full day of activities for all ages celebrating LGBTQ+ pride, visibility and progress with the day full of celebration and touches of fear and defiance in light of the current political climate in which the Trump administration is rolling back protections for those in the LGBTQ community.

As Barb Wray, 72, who attended the parade with her 76-year-old wife, Julie Chuplis, said, “I feel kind of scared. It’s like, ‘Are we going to still be celebrating next year?’ “
