ANN ARBOR — It turned out to be a historic day for the Mason baseball program June 7 on the campus of the University of Michigan.

It started in the morning at Ray Fisher Stadium, where the Bulldogs claimed the program's first-ever regional title with a 6-1 win over CAAC Red rival Williamston.

Mason followed it with an instant classic in an all-Bulldogs matchup with Chelsea in the Division 2 quarterfinals. That's where pitcher Wyatt Ball, who entered in relief in the seventh inning and pitched out of two big jams in extra innings, delivered at the plate with a walk-off single in the 10th inning to send Mason to the state semifinals.
