The LGBTQ community and its allies celebrated the joy of Pride Month in downtown Longmont this weekend.

The annual Longmont Pride festival brought music, food and rainbow flags to Roosevelt Park on Saturday afternoon and evening. The free, family-friendly festival was put on by Colorado nonprofit Rocky Mountain Equality, which has hosted Longmont Pride for about a decade.

Mardi Moore, CEO of Rocky Mountain Equality, said Longmont Pride keeps growing every year because Longmont is a “very inclusive city.”

“The only way to get through these hard times is through community,” Moore said. “People are showing up for one another today and for themselves. There’s not a lot of times that we’ve been able to celebrate this year, and this is a day of celebration.”
