LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Just under 600 seniors from high schools in Lenoir County graduated Saturday with parents and loved ones cheering on their milestone victory.

Before 143 Kinston High School seniors, who earned more than $10.1 million in scholarships, walked across the stage to receive their diplomas inside their school’s gym, many graduating seniors, like Saryanah Becton, said they were anxious at first but also excited to celebrate this special day.

“13 long years, I’m just really happy to be graduating with my peers that I came from. You know, middle school and elementary school, I’m just really blessed to be here,” says Becton.
