(KALB) - The First Alert Weather Team has declared Sunday night, Jun. 8, a First Alert Weather Day due to the potential of severe weather, including damaging winds.

The Storm Prediction Center has included most of Cenla in a MARGINAL risk for severe weather, which is a level 1 out of 5 on the severity scale. There is a SLIGHT risk for our northern parishes, shaded in yellow. This upgrade was made due to an increased potential for damaging winds.
A complex of storms is expected to develop out to our west on Sunday, eventually moving into Central Louisiana overnight. These storms will mainly pose a damaging wind threat, where winds could range from 60-70 mph in the strongest of the storms. Hail and torna
