MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A local player and coach have received awards following their fantastic seasons.
In Class 2A, Robby Devinney has been named coach of the year after after leading OCS to another state title appearance. The Eagles fell to Vermillion Catholic, but the surprise run from the 12-seed Eagles was certainly fun to see.
In softball Class B, Cali Deal has been named most outstanding player. The LSU signee has led Quitman to back-to-back state championships. She compiled 143 strikeouts while also bringing in 24 RBI’s, with a .278 batting average.
