LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - May marked the tenth year of operation for a Lincoln bakery. Goldenrod Pastries, at the corner of 48th Street and Prescott Avenue, celebrated the milestone on Saturday with vendors, a cake walk and plenty of tasty pastries to go around.

The shop, packed with the usual customers, plus dozens who turned out for cotton candy, had their portraits drawn and enjoyed food from Pepe’s Bistro.

Owner, Angela Garbacz, said the corner shop has evolved into a safe gathering place for the community.

“To be an inclusive space, whether you are here for an allergy or a dietary restriction, or who you are just looking for an inclusive place in Lincoln, it’s become one of my favorite things about this,” Garbacz said.
