A fatal, two-vehicle crash left two people trapped inside a crushed car and others injured on Saturday afternoon in the Sun Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to officials.

The L.A. City Fire Department reported the crash at 3:33 p.m., saying there were a total of four patients when crews arrived at the crash site in the intersection of North Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Strathern Street.

One patient was found dead at the scene, and another was estimated to be in critical condition and needed to be extricated from the car and transported to a local trauma center.

Another two patients had minor injuries but refused transport, according to the fire department.
