EVANSVILLE - The Barr-Reeve baseball team (27-6) did everything but win on Saturday at historic Bosse Field in Evansville. Viking pitcher Seth Wagler threw over a 100 pitches and limited No.1 Mater Dei to just three extra base hits in the 2-1, 2A extra-inning regional loss. However, just an MD run in the top of the eighth and run in the top of the first made all the difference and kept the No. 10 Vikes from their third straight trip to semi-state.

"It was a heavyweight fight and we knew it would be. I've got to start with Seth Wagler, and once again, he continues to amaze me and inspire me. And yeah, you tip your cap to the Hoffman kid (who had the lone Wildcat home run and three hits). I mean, he's a stud and we knew that coming in and but, but Seth did enough to give us a chance to win
