LAS VEGAS — A 61-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a box truck on June 4, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Her friends gathered together on Saturday to remember her.

The incident occurred around 9:33 a.m. on Blue Diamond Road, east of Arville Street.

The woman was walking south on the sidewalk before heading westbound.

One of her friends spoke highly of her at the vigil, saying, "Our friend passed away at this spot, and we just wanted you guys to come out and let everybody know that she was an amazing person. She touched everybody's hearts. She worked at UNLV as a supervisor. She had a lot of friends that loved her dearly.

Approximately 500 feet east of Arville Street, she darted into the road, directly into the path of an approaching Isuzu box
