BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - On Saturday, flags showcasing identity flew high, fans waved, and colorful tunes filled the air.
This year’s Gulf Coast Pride Festival brought hundreds of LGBTQ+ people and allies to Point Cadet Plaza in Biloxi.
Celeste Spencer is here offering unconditional love.
“Some people just collapse in my arms and just cry, and they’ve told me that it’s been years since they’ve had a hug from a loved one,” she said. “It’s even more important now to show acceptance and show love, and it’s so important because there are people who think just because they may be gay or bisexual that their lives don’t matter, but they do.”
Matthew Magandy is one of the organizers driving the event.
“It’s going to happen whether they try to stop it or not, so we’re gonna be here every year,”
