SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - The Martha Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held a dedication ceremony, Saturday, June 7, at Siouxland Freedom Park.
The group dedicated ‘The Patriot’s Bench’ to honor the service and sacrifice of American Revolutionary War patriots.
The bench is also a commemoration of 250 years since the United States declared independence from Great Britain.
Representatives say they are happy to be unveiling this project.
“It’s very nice to be able to finally achieve it,” said Martha Washington Chapter Vice Regent, Marta Nelson. “It’s been a long time in the planning, several years. So it’s nice to see it here, and it’s something that’s going to attract attention and give somebody a chance to contemplate the flowers in the garden when the
