EMMAUS — You can’t control everything in sports. Crestwood was dealt the short end of that fact Saturday, losing its momentum to a one-hour, 14-minute weather delay.
The Comets were shut out of the second quarter, as District 1 champion Strath Haven topped the District 2 runner-up, 17-9, in a PIAA Class 2A girls lacrosse quarterfinal at Emmaus High School.
“We’ve never come this far before,” Crestwood head coach Russ Kile said. “For us to just win that first round was great. On top of that, just to get to the second round as well.”
Strath Haven took control of the game early, riding two goals from Kate Fox to a 2-0 lead less than four minutes in.
