Minisink Valley senior C.J. Kuiken has been thinking about scoring her 200 th career goal for weeks, hoping she could reach the milestone before she graduates.

Kuiken reached the big 2-0-0 on Saturday, and she was even more excited to help Minisink Valley make history. The Section 9 Class B girls’ lacrosse champions defeated Vestal 17-6 in the quarterfinals of the state tournament at Chenango Forks High School.

With the win, Minisink Valley (16-2) is believed to be the first Section 9 girls’ lacrosse team to reach the state final four. Minisink Valley will play Garden City or Yorktown in the state semifinals at 2 p.m. on Friday at SUNY Cortland.

Minisink Valley has won 13 games in a row since losing to Shenendehowa on April 12.
