COLUMBUS — As she considered earlier this spring what path to take for her final girls track and field postseason, Central Catholic senior Nyla King looked at the numbers.

In addition to the three state championship relays she ran on over her first two prep seasons, King entered this year’s Division II event Friday and Saturday in Ohio State’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium looking for her third consecutive title in the 100 meters, her second in a row in the 200, and her first in the 400 after settling for a runner-up finish last spring.

She left Saturday with titles in all three of those events, including a state-record time in the 200, closing her prep career with 10 championships.

“I didn’t think about it until I saw it on paper, but winning 10 titles was a big motivation,” King said.
