The Boston Bruins have been one of the NHL's most consistent and successful teams. Prior to this season, they had been to the Stanley Cup playoffs in eight consecutive seasons. Going back to the 1967-68 season — Bobby Orr's second year with the team — the Bruins had made an appearance in the postseason 49 out of 57 times.
