CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A Northern Kentucky high school football coach and teacher has passed away.

Dave Trosper, who has been the head coach at Conner High School since 2007 and a business teacher at the school, died of a heart attack on Saturday. He was 55.

Trosper went to Boone County High School and was captain for the Rebels his senior season, graduating in 1988. He continued his playing career at Union College, where he was twice named captain.

He was a linebackers coach at his alma mater to start his post-playing days. After three years, Trosper then spent six years at Morehead State University as linebackers coach, defensive coach, and recruiting coordinator. He returned to Northern Kentucky to join Holmes High School as defensive coordinator for a season before leading the Bulldogs
