At the Goldfinch Arts Centre in Colwood, a new group exhibition is inviting viewers to look inward.
Soulscapes brings together four Vancouver Island artists—Bill Porter, Kathy Key, Ainsley Guzmán, and Ken Miner—each working in portraiture, but with very different approaches.
“I don’t do landscapes. I do soulscapes,” says Bill Porter, a classically trained painter whose charcoal drawings are often mistaken for photographs.
Before he begins, he asks his sitters to bring something personal to the process.
