PLAISTOW – The Portsmouth High School boys lacrosse team’s chances of winning were as bleak as the weather on Saturday afternoon.
However, the sixth-seeded Clippers scored three goals in the final 35 seconds to earn an improbable 8-7 win at No. 3 Timberlane in a Division II quarterfinal.
“At the end there, it just turned into us seniors trying to get the most out of our last minute of Portsmouth lacrosse,” said Reilly Collins, who scored back-to-back goals just 7 seconds apart to tie the game at 7-7 with 28 seconds left to play.
