1NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A Newport News man has been arrested and charged in connection with the April 30 killing of a woman whose body was found in a home on Antrim Drive, police announced Monday.

David Anderson, 30, was arrested on June 2 and charged with first-degree murder in the death of 28-year-old Imani Parrish. Parrish was discovered unresponsive inside a residence in the 600 block of Antrim Drive just before 9 p.m. that evening.

Responding officers found Parrish not breathing. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene. Police launched a homicide investigation based on the nature of her injuries. According to her family, Parrish’s body was located in a closet, wrapped in a bloody blanket, and they believe she was killed by someone she “really cared about.”
