BUFFALO, N.Y. — The City of Buffalo failed to win a trophy last year, and for a lot of people, that's a probably seen as a good thing.
Buffalo Common Council member Mitch Nowakowski handed off the Golden Snowball trophy to Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh on Saturday afternoon at Buffalo Brewing Company's Taproom. Buffalo had held the title of snowiest city in the state for three straight years, but that streak is now history.
"Snow has become a part of our identity and culture, but it also shows that look through snow storms we get through it, and there's lots to do in the City of Buffalo even when it's snowing," Nowakowski said.
So now, that trophy is headed back to Syracuse.
The president of Buffalo Brewing Company also gave the Syracuse mayor a four-pack of the brewery's Golden Snowbeer,
