DUBOIS COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — Authorities in Dubois County have issued a warning about a new scam involving text messages claiming unpaid tolls.
These messages, appearing to be from official sources, instruct recipients to click on a link or provide personal information.
"Please be aware—they are a scam. DO NOT respond or follow any instructions," officials said.
Residents are urged not to click on any links in the messages or share personal or financial information.
To verify toll payments or inquiries, use your state's official website or contact customer service directly.
Staying informed and cautious can help protect against these scams, authorities told 44News.
