ASHLAND, WIS. (Northern News Now) - A family has been displaced from their home temporarily following a house fire in Ashland.
According to the Ashalnd Fire Department (AFD), around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, crews were dispatched to 11th Avenue West and 3rd Street West for a house fire.
Once crews were on scene, they found a two-story residential structure with flames coming from the first a second floors.
According to AFD, within two minutes, firefighters knocked down the flames and aggressively transitioned in through the front door, where they brought the fire under control while searching the residence for people.
Two people were home at the time of the fire and were able to get themselves out of the house.
One pet was saved, while others died in the fire. No word on how many.
