MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) - You’re invited to participate in the first Muscatine Triathlon that will be held at Deep Lakes Park at the beginning on August.

Early registration goes through July 14, after that the registration price increases by $25, event organizers said. Take part in the fun and register yourself or your team, here .

The event will be on Aug. 2 starting at 8 a.m.

This Sprint Class Triathlon will begin with a 750-meter swim across beautiful Lake Chester, according to event organizers. After a quick transition, triathletes will jump on their bicycles for a 12.4 mile bicycle ride on a flat course that leaves the main access of Deep Lakes Park heading south on Pettibone, across Wiggins Road, then down Stewart Road to the turn-around and back.
