KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - An early morning chase involving Warsaw police officers led to one police vehicle being rammed by the suspect and an officer firing his weapon.

Indiana State Police say it all started just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday when a Warsaw officer tried to pull over a Chevrolet Silverado, but the driver — 37-year-old Lance Walter of Mansfield, Ohio — didn’t stop.

The chase reportedly ended near the intersection of State Road 13 and E. County Road 150 North when Walter rammed into a stationary Warsaw Police Department SUV. An officer who was exiting the vehicle at the time of the crash was later treated and released for an injury to his leg.

After the first crash, police say Walter continued driving, then turned around and crashed into the same police SUV again.
