TOLEDO, Ohio — A public health advisory remains in effect this weekend after the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department found elevated levels of E. Coli in Swan Creek and its connected streams.

The contamination, linked to sewer overflows, has prompted growing concern among residents who frequent nearby parks.

Local residents say the smell from the creek is hard to ignore—and increasingly affecting their daily lives.

"While we're playing basketball, it really affects me and my asthma. I can't stand it,” said Caleb Whitiker, who lives near Highland Park. “Just got out here walking around, walking past this place right here with the water—smell terrible."
