CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The Hurricane Redskins are going into the WV high school record books as the first ever Class AAAA baseball state champion. They beat Morgantown 6-1 to claim their fifth overall championship and first since 2022. Hurricane pitcher Weston Smith pitched a complete game and struck out 13.

Meanwhile from the Class AAA game, the Ripley Vikings won their first state baseball title since 2004 and third overall as they shut out Frankfort 5-0. They scored all of their runs in the bottom of the second inning with pitcher Jackson Curry going the distance and allowed just three hits.
