KEARNEY, Neb. (WOWT) - The 67th annual Nebraska Shrine Bowl was played at Ron & Carol Cope Stadium, home of the University of Nebraska-Kearney, on Saturday. Rosters were made up of graduating high school senior all-stars from across the state, divided into the North and South teams.
Several Omaha-area football players represented their high schools for the final time, as the North won bragging rights behind a 28-21 victory.
“Everybody around here, great guys,” said TJ Whaley, Bellevue West grad and incoming UNK wide receiver. “We all just bonded well, the coaches are great, they taught us everything.
