CHICAGO - It was time to walk and roll Saturday morning!
In Grant Park, 1,500 people worked up a sweat to raise money for the American Cancer Society in its 54th year.
"Walk and Roll" is the longest-running cancer fundraiser in Illinois. Participants had their choice of biking, skating, running or walking.
"We see people along the lakefront every day walking, running, biking, skating, so why not raise money for cancer research for that? We love to have survivors and caregivers out here. They're definitely the faces of what we do every day," Jody Phillips of the American Cancer Society said.
Cancer survivors include WGN-TV reporter Mike Lowe as well as motivational speaker and author Randi Moxi.
