SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Duluth FC faced a long trip and a tight turnaround this weekend and ended up with a mixed bag of results — a Friday win at Sioux Falls Thunder and a Saturday loss at Siouxland United.
The BlueGreens, playing a rare back-to-back, held on until a late goal for the host Outlaws by Abdul-Salaam Abdalla at close range a minute into injury time. It is Duluth FC's first NPSL loss of the season.
The night before, the BlueGreens got a pair of goals in the second half for a 2-0 win over the Thunder in Sioux Falls.
Felipe Oliveira opened the scoring in the 57th minute from an assist by J.J. Oyebamiji. Harvey McLoughlin finished off the three points by scoring two minutes into injury time.
The BlueGreens, now 4-1 in league play, will play at the Minnesota Blizzard on June 14.
