AUSTIN, Texas — A pedestrian was critically injured late Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 35, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. on I-35 between 51st Street and U.S. Highway 290. Authorities reported that two cars pulled over following the collision, but it was unclear if either or both vehicles were involved in the accident.
Emergency responders took the injured person to a local hospital, where they are in critical condition. Police did not immediately release the victim’s name or further details about the circumstances of the crash.
As of late Saturday, I-35 was closed to traffic going southbound between 51st Street and U.S. Highway 290 as authorities investigated the scene.
