It's the true Midland story that inspired an emotional new movie.

The Salt Path, featuring Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs, is based on the memoir of the same name by Raynor Winn, who is from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.

She and her husband Moth Winn embarked on a 630-mile journey along the South West Coast Path in 2013 following tragic news.

A financial dispute resulted in the couple losing their dream home in Wales, days after Moth was diagnosed with corticobasal degeneration, a rare brain disease.

With nothing left to lose, Moth and Raynor embarked on the challenging trek from Somerset to Dorset, passing through Devon and Cornwall, reports Leicestershire Live .
