ABERDEEN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - For the second time in three years the West Central Trojans are on top of South Dakota Class A Softball.

After spotting Tri-Valley the first run of the game in the first inning, West Central scored 11 unanswered and eight in the final inning to invoke the mercy rule in the 2025 SDHSAA State Championship Game on Saturday in Aberdeen.

West Central’s (21-3) Ayla Kramer went 3-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Maddy Kunzweiler went 2-4 with three RBI. Teagen Lupkes and Sophie Rolfson each drove in two runs as West Central pounded out 12 hits.

Tri-Valley (14-3) managed just three hits on the day with two of those coming from Emery Pearson. Kadence Davey had the other hit and scored on an error in the first.
