ABERDEEN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Katrina Hagberg gave up just three hits and one run while striking out 15 in a complete game effort to lead the Deuel Cardinals to a 3-1 victory over Gayville-Volin in the 2025 SDHSAA State B Championship game on Saturday afternoon in Aberdeen.
The top-seeded Cardinals (22-2) win the first state title in program history.
In addition to her performance on the mound, Hagberg went 3-2 at the plate with an RBI. Aubrey Lanners also went 2-3 and drove in the first run of the game with a double in the third to break a scoreless tie. A single from Roxanne Raml would add a second run in the inning and an RBI single from Hagberg in the fifth made it 3-0.
