On Mother’s Day, two Scottsdale area moms were laughing and hugging their cherished children.

Two weeks later, each fought through shock and grief to share Mother’s Day photos of the Arcadia High students suddenly snatched away.

Pandora Kjolsrud, 18, and Evan Clark, 17, died March 26 in a rugged area near Mount Ord – roughly halfway between Mesa and Payson.

According to a press release, “The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is actively working this case, which involves two victims who tragically lost their lives due to gunshot wounds.

“At this time, the circumstances surrounding their deaths are being treated as suspicious.”
