Matt Chapman belted a two-run, walk-off home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday afternoon, lifting the San Francisco Giants to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Atlanta Braves.
After Braves starter Bryce Elder struck out a career-high 12 in eight innings while allowing one run, Atlanta turned to Pierce Johnson (1-3) for the ninth with a 2-1 lead. A one-out single by Heliot Ramos set the stage for Chapman, who launched a 1-1 pitch into the left field bleachers for his 12th home run of the season and the Giants’ second consecutive walk-off win.
