RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Severe weather is possible Sunday afternoon and evening here in Central Virginia. The Storm Prediction Center currently has most of the region in a level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather. All modes of severe threats are possible that include hail, damaging wind gusts, & a tornado or two. The main threat will be damaging winds.
Storms could potentially be slow moving as well and that could lead areas of localized flooding in the region. There is a slight risk of flash flooding from the WPC for tomorrow.
Main severe threat is tomorrow afternoon but there is the potential for severe storms in the morning. First round could start as early as 6AM and then last through mid morning.
