Drink-driver Wesley Boardman has been banned from the roads for 26 months. North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard the 46-year-old was seen driving an Audi car on Oak Road, Knutton , on May 5.

Prosecutor Suzanne Swindail said: "Police followed the vehicle and watched it reverse on a drive. The defendant got out and entered an address. He was followed by officers and arrested. He was taken to custody where he was breathalysed and gave a reading of 104 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, against the legal limit of 35."

Boardman, of Oak Road, Knutton, pleaded guilty to drink-driving.

Lee Yates, mitigating, said Boardman works as a plumber. The work van has been taken from him but his employers are making arrangements so he will be able to carry on working for them.
