A new cafe and takeaway has opened in Hartshill. Brew & Butty Bar has opened in the former Makers and More shop in Hartshill Road.
Owner Darren Gilbert, aged 55, left his job at NHS cancer services to run the cafe with his 49-year-old wife Tracy and mother-in-law Dottie Ailwood, aged 75.
Darren, of Hartshill , told StokeonTrentLive : "This is something we have always wanted to do. I have always fancied myself running a cafe. The building became available and we went for it.
"It has gone very well since we opened. We did a soft opening just to get everything in place. It has taken off.
"Breakfasts and coffees are going out really well. They are very popular. The coffee is from Iron & Fire, a Shrewsbury company. All the coffee is roasted on site in Shrewsbury."
