A motorcyclist is in a serious condition in hospital following a crash on the M6.

The rider, a man in his 20s, was airlifted to hospital after his Yamaha YZF-R3 collided with a crash barrier near Leyland in Lancashire on Saturday night.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward following the incident at junction 28 of the M6 at 6.23pm on Saturday June 7.

Officers were called to reports of a collision on the southbound exit slip road at junction 28 of the M6 at Leyland, Lancashire Police have revealed.

They discovered a motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, who had sustained serious injuries after his blue Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle collided with the crash barrier.
