Princess Anne was spotted in Edinburgh on Saturday, June 7 to commemorate the unveiling of a new monument honouring Queen Elizabeth II.

The Princess Royal unveiled a bronze medallion depicting Queen Elizabeth II as a final addition to The Royal Scots Monument in Princes Street Gardens .

The monument, originally opened on July 26, 1952, commemorates the service by The Royal Scots to 16 monarchs from its founding in 1633 under a Royal Warrant from King Charles I. The additional medallion marks the final monarch under whom the Regiment served.

Princess Anne, accompanied by Robert Aldridge, the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, was met by Major General Robert Bruce, the governor of Edinburgh Castle, among other prominent figures.
