More than 700,000 Midlands residents have had the latest Covid jab - and there's still time to get one. The Spring campaign runs until Tuesday 17 June with the Midlands take-up rate currently standing at 52 per cent.

The latest jabs are targeted at the over-75s, care home residents, and children and adults with a weakened immune system. Bookings must be made by Monday 16 June.

A walk-in clinic is being held at Leek Fire Station, on Springfield Road, Leek, from 9am to 2pm on Thursday 12 June.

NHS director Roz Lindridge said: "We know that Covid-19 has not gone away, despite the warmer weather and certain groups remain at higher risk of serious illness. Getting the vaccination now tops up their protection as immunity does fade over time.
