Before being quick to label Albertans — and Premier Danielle Smith — as radicals for talking separation, readers should ask themselves: is Alberta being treated fairly?

Alberta has always stepped up. We’ve supported provinces in crisis without hesitation. But this isn’t about hard times anymore. It’s about a system that bleeds Alberta dry — and expects us to smile through it.

We’ve paid out for over 60 years without seeing a dime in equalization. Quebec, meanwhile, takes billions while refusing full commitment to Confederation. And what do we get in return? No influence. No voice. No respect.
